Peter Greaver is a son of artists, Hanne and Harry Greaver. He made his first drawing before he could walk. When he was a boy he loved picture books with magical stories and illustrations. Fairies were a favorite and could be found in some of his earliest drawings and paintings. Other early inspirations were exploring woods and forests, trips to museums to see treasures of the past and adventures in Denmark, his mother's native country.
When Peter was older, he studied art at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and the Museum Art School in Portland, Oregon. Also, he studied traditional Chinese painting with Wing K. Leong at the Chinese Art Studio in Portland, Oregon.
Today, Peter creates drawings and paintings which feature realism or fantasy. He also creates custom portraits from photographs, both people and pets, traditional or fantasy.
